MY Version of a Green Smoothie Bowl: A sweet way to get your greens!
I don't know about you, but I have the hardest time getting enough healthy greens into my everyday diet. I always think to myself, "next week I'll do better!" Well, no more need for procrastination! I have the perfect smoothie bowl recipe that will fit into your morning routine.
MY Version of a Green Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients
1 Banana
1 Green apple, cored *not peeled*
1 Cup of spinach
1 Cup of kale
1 Cup of frozen pineapple
1 Cup of coconut milk
Toppings (optional)
1 Kiwi
A handful of blueberries *my favourite*
Sprinkle of shaved coconut flakes
Sunflower seeds
Directions:
Combine banana, green apple, spinach, kale, and frozen pineapple in the blender. Then add coconut milk a little at a time. Remember, you want the smoothie consistency to be on the thicker side since it is a smoothie bowl! I add 1/2 cup of coconut milk at first, and slowly add the rest over a few pulses.
Blend, blend blend!
The smoothie bowl may be very thick and your blender may appear to be struggling at first, but *trust the process!* Blend the smoothie until you get a smooth/ice cream consistency (about 5-6 minutes).
Then scoop the smoothie into a bowl and top with: kiwi, blueberries, shaved coconut flakes, and sunflower seeds!
