Rare Beauty is a makeup brand founded by Selena Gomez. On my first visit to the website rarebeauty.com, it was obvious that Selena was very hands-on when it comes to the design and production of her new brand. Every makeup product has a thought-out and meaningful message to inspire the user: "Always an Optimist, weightless primer." "Stay Vulnerable, liquid eye shadow." I found it very comforting and uplifting to be using a brand that genuinely cared about making every single user feel special. From the details in packaging to the products themselves, you can feel that Rare Beauty is different from other conventional makeup brands. Not only does Rare Beauty genuinely care for its customers but the brand is also mindful of its accessibility to the products themselves. During a live stream on Instagram, Selena explained the meaning and process behind the design of the packaging for the makeup products, and why it was important to her for the packaging to be user-friendly. Selena was diagnosed with Lupus in 2015, (Moniuszko, 2019) she expressed how her lupus made tasks such as opening up a water bottle, extremely difficult for her. While designing the packaging, Selena tried to make sure her products were user-friendly and easy to open. Not only does this makeup line look beautiful, spread positivity and kindness, but Rare Beauty also cares about the accessibility of it's products.

In my personal opinion, I think the shade range is impressive for the initial launching of the brand. But- there is always room for improvement.
Rare Beauty currently has more foundation shades than the top three rated foundations from Elle Magazine: Fenty Beauty (40 foundation shades), Colour pop (42 shades), Covergirl (40 shades) (Rodulfo, 2018).

I have personally tried the foundation and concealer from Rare Beauty and I found it VERY true to colour. As someone with very fair skin, I have found it difficult to find a foundation shade that does not make my skin appear too pink or too yellow. I was very happy with Rare Beauty's100W shade for my skin tone.
BUT, something to keep in mind with Rare Beauty products is that a little goes a long way!

~Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, in shade Bliss.
~Positive Light Liquid Luminizer, in shade Enchant (my favourite product!)
~Magnetic Spirit Eyeshadow Palette.
~Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm, in shade Nearly Neutral.

The Rare Beauty products that I have tried are very light weight feeling, highly pigmented, and last all day! I was very happy with the quality of the products, from the foundation, concealer, liquid blush, liquid luminizer, and liquid lip balm! These products are beautiful and make you feel-well, RARE!
